LuxChemTech named “Semiconductor Material Recycling Company of the Year 2026” by Semiconductor Review Europe

Europe’s semiconductor sector has expanded significantly in recent years, yet manufacturing remains highly dependent on imports of critical materials such as gallium, indium, and silicon from third countries with high supply chain risk. Strengthening domestic recovery pathways have therefore become essential for long-term resilience. 

  

Our partner, LuxChemtech, based in Germany, is advancing this goal through an integrated recycling model, which combines mechanical separation with chemical processes at molecular and atomic levels. Their technology allows for the recovery of critical elements like indium and gallium from complex semiconductor scrap. By reintegrating these materials into production cycles, LuxChemtech supports closed-loop manufacturing and helps European fabs improve supply resilience without adding operational complexity.

This leadership in material recovery has earned LuxChemtech the Semiconductor Material Recycling Company of the Year 2026 from the Semiconductor Review Europe. The magazine’s feature highlights how fabrication scrap from wafer processing and compound semiconductor manufacturing can become a strategic source of critical materials such as silicon, gallium and indium. It also showcases LuxChemTech’s readiness to deliver production scale solutions that allow fabs to valorize resources already available in their facilities.

The InGaGe project builds directly on this expertise for InP scrap recycling, applying LuxChemtech’s advanced process to recover high-purity indium and establish more resilient, circular pathways in Europe’s semiconductor ecosystem.
